No enough greensI don’t think it’s news to many people that Westerners just don’t eat enough vegetables these days. Our diets are often very heavy in processed foods, mostly refined carbohydrates, and very light on raw vegetables.

In fact, I recently came across this chart showing the breakdown of an average diet – It’s not hard to see where we are lacking.

This is one of the reasons I love green smoothies. Making smoothies that are loaded with fruits and vegetables is such as easy way to sneak more produce into our diets without much effort at all.

So without further ado, here are 20 amazing green smoothie recipes for you to try:

1. Peach-Strawberry Veggie Smoothie (my daily choice!)

I literally eat this smoothie every day after my workout. Watch the video to learn why this particular smoothie recipe is such a good one (it’s all about “glycogen” restoration).

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 scoops vanilla protein (I use whey)
  • 2 tablespoons flax
  • 2 medium carrots
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup frozen peaches
  • 2 cups baby spinach
